New Dataset Dialog Box
You can use the New Dataset dialog box to create a dataset for a query-based page report. This topic describes the options in the dialog box.
Designer displays the New Dataset dialog box when you do one of the following:
- Select New in the Manage Datasets dialog box.
- Select <Choose Data from...> from the dataset drop-down list in the Data panel for a query-based page report in the main window.
- In the dialog box where you can select an existing dataset to use, select <New Dataset...> in the dataset list.
You see the following options in the dialog box:
Data source drop-down list
This drop-down list contains the data sources you have created in the current catalog. Select the data source that contains the resource you want to use for the dataset.
Resource box
This box displays all the data resources you have predefined in the specified catalog data source. Select the data resource on which to create the dataset. You can also select the first item in each data resource node to create a data resource of the type for the dataset.
New Dataset Name
Specify the name of the dataset.
OK
Select to apply your settings and close the dialog box.
Cancel
Select to close the dialog box without saving any changes.
Help
Select to view information about the dialog box.
